That’s how it always starts, right? Anybody learning a programming language for the past few decades starts by learning how to get the computer to output, “Hello world!”
And now, I’m adding to the noise.
But maybe, possibly, this will be different. Maybe I’ll stick with it, and maybe you’ll keep coming back, and maybe this will grow into something neither of us could imagine right now.
I’ve been obsessed for the past few months with an ancient model of education called the Trivium. It used to be the foundation of Western education, and to an extent, it still influences our educational system. But I think we’ve kept the forms without understanding the reasoning behind them.
This has led to at least a couple generations of people who are educated, but still somehow haven’t learned how to actually think. We are bombarded with ideas, but we don’t have the tools to judge those ideas, and so we are far too easily manipulated and guided.
I’d like to tackle this problem by providing those tools, so that we can be a people equipped to function and succeed in this busy world.
My name is Russ. Glad to make your acquaintance.
